Floras are listings of plants by geographical location and are frequently major projects. Several of these from around the world are now appearing appearing on the Web and are collected on this page.

Flora of North America North of Mexico

This flora is a major project to compile a systematic conspectus and identification guide to all plants in North America. It is both in print and online, allowing connections with other wide-area floras. Much of it is still under construction. Completed are Vol. 1: Introductory Essays and Vol. 2: Pteridophytes and Gymnosperms.

Australian Plant Name Index
This index lists all published names of Australian vascular plants with bibliographic details. Also included is the Census of Australian Vascular Plants.
Gopher Menu accesses database searchable by taxon name and explanatory material.
Catalogue of Australian Mosses
Gopher access to a searchable database of mosses found in Australia and its external territories.
Brings together all references and distribution data for these mosses. The information is unique and not represented in any one publication.
Conspectus Madagascar
The Conspectus is a subset of the TROPICOS database at the Missouri Botanic Garden.
The web page presents images of the specimens which link to the collection data.
Tropicos
Tropicos is the major taxonomic database of the Missouri Botanic Garden.
Gopher Menu provides access to searchable databases for ferns, gymnosperms, angiosperms, and a bibliography.
Flora Mesoamericana
Flora Mesoamericana is the first collection describing vascular plants for the southernmost states of Mexico and the Central American republics. 7 volumes will be produced between 1994 and 2001.
Web page provides access to the checklist for volume 1, the ferns, a map of the scope of the flora and images of the plants.
Checklist of the Vascular Plants of Texas
This checklist is an ongoing project, begun in 1937, to provide a complete taxonomic account of the vascular plants of Texas. Specimens are housed in the Tracy Herbarium at Texas A and M University.
Access through web page to databases of pteridopytes and gymnosperms, dicots, and monocots.
